Faith In The Arts: Manchester Jewish Museum

We are excited to offer a new series exploring how Faith, art and culture are intertwined, the stories they hold, how they got to Manchester and learning how the items are preserved.

The series will start with a visit on Wednesday 13th November 2024 to Manchester Jewish Museum, 190 Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester M8 8LW where you will have the opportunity to explore the diverse stories of Manchester’s Jewish communities in the gallery and visit the stunning graded II listed Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue.

There will be an introductory talk from a volunteer guide on the collections they hold and the Synagogue, followed by an opportunity to look around on your own time. Some of the collections are oral history and film based and are best experienced in your own time, but the guide will also be on hand to answer any questions.

We will have sole use of their studio during the visit, which includes cloakroom facilities and plenty of table space to relax during the visit. There will also be a self-serve refreshment station with hot drinks and biscuits throughout the visit. If you require specific milk, please let us know as soon possible.

The Museum is fully accessible with lifts to both floors and accessible toilets on both floors, which you can read about here: https://www.manchesterjewishmuseum.com/your-visit/access/ if you require any additional support, let u know as soon as possible.

Following the visit your ticket will allow you to sign up for an annual free pass. This means across the year you can attend the Museum as part of the original ticket price with the group or as an individual.

We are covering costs for the visit so tickets are free but you must book via https://FN4MVisitsMJM.eventbrite.co.uk As tickets are limited, if you are no longer able to make it, be sure to release your ticket immediately to allow others to book on.
