One Song, Many Voices: The Bhagavad-Gita Across Manuscript Traditions
Join us on Thursday 17th September 2026, 5:30pm-7pm at the John Rylands Library for a special event discovering the major schools of Hinduism through stunning manuscripts.
During the session we will be exploring the Bhagavad Gita, the most widely explored text in the Hindu canon and how different Hindu traditions define themselves through the way they interpret this important text. Alongside the Bhagavad Gita, we will also find out more about Hindu traditions through other visually stunning Hindu works.
We will be joined by Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Deepak Gupta who has studied the Bhagavad Gita for more than 30 years and teaches the Gita through Gieo Gita UK. He has worked with the Library, to catalogue and describe several of their Bhagavad Gita manuscripts helping to widen access to these important texts.
Tickets are free but limited. Book your place, via: https://FaithInTheArtsHinduism.eventbrite.co.uk
