Exploring Collections: Commentaries & Interpretations in Islamic and Jewish Texts

Join us on Tuesday 16th September, 2pm-4pm at the John Rylands Library for the final session in the Faith and the Arts Programme, delving into the central role of commentaries in Islamic and Jewish traditions. Discover how curators navigate the challenges of translation, context, and accessibility, making complex theological texts more understandable while staying true to their depth and meaning.

The session will be hosted by Zsófi Buda, Curator of Jewish and Islamic Collections and invites you to see sacred texts not just as ancient writings, but as living sources of identity, dialogue, and meaning across cultures and faiths.

This a free event and is open to all but advanced registration is encouraged!
