The Future of Interfaith in England– North West Regional Consultation

Join us on Thursday 7th May 2026, 1:30pm- 4:30pm at Friends' Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester M2 5NS for The Future of Interfaith in England– North West Regional Consultation

On behalf of the Working Party on the Future of Interfaith in England we would like to invite you to a consultation for the North West region hosted by the Faith Network for Manchester. The event is one of nine regional consultations taking place across England between now and the end of May.

The Working Party on the Future of Interfaith in England was brought together following a meeting of over 40 local, regional, and national interfaith groups and faith community representative bodies last November following the background of the closure of the Inter Faith Network for the UK (IFN) and developments abroad and in the UK which are impacting the work for all of us.

This England-wide consultation is to determine the extent and vitality of the ‘interfaith sector’, and to determine what central resources or support may be required to help the sector thrive.

The consultation will be co-chaired by Canon Hilary Barber, one of the final co-chairs of IFN, and Zerbanoo Gifford, Founder of the ASHA Centre. We are also delighted to say we will have Revd Canon Hilary Barber, Vicar of Halifax, as our guest speaker who will set the background of how and why this consultation has come about. As the last Co-Chair of the Inter Faith Network (IFN) and previously the Vice-Chair of Calderdale Interfaith for 14 years, he is well placed to give personal insight and set the tone and direction for our discussions on the future of interfaith in England.
